I just made these gyoza, and they have more bark than bite.

If you don’t speak her language, what she said in the beginning of the video was: ” It’s a good thing we have plenty of ground pork or the dog is going to see the business end of this sharp ass knife. “

I sometimes cook with my monkey. Is that wrong?

What do you call a Korean with a dog?
A: A dog lover.

What do you call a Korean with six dogs?
A: A rancher.

No seriously the gyozas looked good, with I had some.

Leviticus 11

7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

Why hasn’t anyone pointed out that the Dog is the main ingredient?

dogstyle2222 December 17, 2009 at 2:57 am

I like the Chinese version of dumplings better tbh

AlvinTingyk December 17, 2009 at 3:36 am

The dog might be contaminating the food!

syrianprince23 December 17, 2009 at 4:22 am

Potato starch makes mixture sticky and easier to form on Gyoza skins. You can use corn starch or plain flour instead. Starch also helps to keep tasty meat soup inside the dumpling and you can enjoy the delice when you munch.

usually how it works is that certain things are added to enhance flavors or to reduce bitterness. (for example chili’s in chocolate really makes chocolate pop) in this case the sugar would bring out the flavoring in the pork more (which is why thinks like maple glazed pork are so delicious) and the pepper would help to season everything else to even out the mix so its not too sweet. Spices are really interesting in all you can do with them to enchance your food!

nikitak09 December 17, 2009 at 6:55 am

Ok, but I still think it’s wrong but if their cooks they know more.

MissReige December 17, 2009 at 7:13 am

Well they probably wouldn’t if they were the stars seasonings of the recipe, but there’s so many other things going in and complementing it that they go fine together.

nikitak09 December 17, 2009 at 7:52 am

Well I don’t know much about food but from what I knew pepper and sugar don’t go together but if ouy say they do ok then.

MissReige December 17, 2009 at 9:35 am

No, they do go together in a recipe as a whole. You’d be surprised how good of a combination spicy and sweet can make.
