How to build a computer (part 1 of 9)

by MissyMoo on January 12, 2010

This is how you build a computer. Since my previous computer died (the motherboard or processor died causing POST to not occur (the beep you hear upon starting your computer)), I had to replace it and upon getting my replacement parts, I figured I’d record videos on how to put together a computer. This video leaves out the part about buying components and compatibility checking out – it, instead, focuses toward installing the components, pretty much from scratch. The video uses 28 segments …

Well ya

Many of the components survived though – the power supply, the hard drive, CD/DVD writer, sound card, and video card. I’m unsure whether it’s the processor or the motherboard that died and I don’t know if the 1. 5 GB of RAM is any good.

Ahh good

I think I got my components back in 2004, probably 2005.

I can’t hear your voice

Nevermind I was mistaken.

Is the computer you show at the beginning a Hewitt-Packard Vectra?

RealeloH January 12, 2010 at 2:35 pm

you have exactly the same pc case as me.
this is surreal.

Looks have hardly changed. There are a few slight differences, but still, there is essentially nothing significantly different for computer components over the span of several years.

dude is it just me or does the layout of the cpu from the 90’s

ulillillia January 12, 2010 at 3:55 pm

Did what work? If it’s the computer, how else am I typing this – my old computer is unusable. If it’s the camera’s audio problems, I have no options for this outside getting a different camera.

did this work

Ah. . . I had a feeling you were talking about “that”. Well, truth is. I’m fine if there are girls only, but the problem with human romance is that they ALWAYS have a MALE involved, and I don’t know about the rest of the world, but any chance that that guy is going to “show off” is a “turn off” for me, which is why I just avoid it completely. Animals are animals, so I don’t care about seeing them.

its just that you’d rather see a cows utters than a pair of boobs it seems like

MarioMastar January 12, 2010 at 6:49 pm

Well, to be honset, I agree completely. I’m nothing like many people stereotype themselves to be at all, and I’m perfectly happy that way. It makes my life so much easier to not have to worry about following what is “standard” but to do what I want. I also like to be efficient.

TDWPMegalomaniaTDWP January 12, 2010 at 6:53 pm

your a strange human being

ulillillia January 12, 2010 at 7:19 pm

Actually, it’s a bad or weak microphone. It could also be the bad audio compression the GE A730 camera uses. I don’t know which case it may be though.

peterm3964 January 12, 2010 at 7:31 pm

Out of focus bad sound its all here folks

cthulhoo January 12, 2010 at 8:10 pm

You have the same case as me but mine has a side pane. Nice choice.

MarioMastar January 12, 2010 at 8:22 pm

Hehe, I’m sorry, I’m still trying to get used to your rating system. I should’ve had the exponent be an odd number since odd powers make negitives negative (learning the limits would help to, on my part). Well, until I get better used to your system (which I really think is convient), I hate realistic romance, and if animated, I’m not a fan of human romance and animal romance varies to me based on the style drawn.

You don’t mind if I practice using your rating system do you?

ulillillia January 12, 2010 at 8:42 pm

Oh wow, you must really like romance! -10^500, -10 multiplied by itself 500 times gives you 1E500, positive. Assuming you mean 1E-500 instead, 1E-500 compatibility is practically impossible. Commiting suicide is only 5E-04, for comparison (doing something neutral-rated has 2. 5 billion times the sustainability). It’s very rare to see compatibility go beyond -50 and +50 on average, -400 and +400 with spike-weighting.

MarioMastar January 12, 2010 at 9:36 pm

(I think I might try your system here)
I’m just saying that while I hate romance scenes, if it’s an animal (~10 pts, but varies), I can ignore it and move on, since they are a different species and I don’t see that often, but if it’s between two real humans (-10^500 pts, yeah, that bad to me), I am repelled more than two north pole super magnets. Romance is boring, but with humans in it, it’s worse for me . Animations (-50 pts) allow for up to 5% resistance of turning away, though.

MarioMastar January 12, 2010 at 10:00 pm

I definetly agree. Though Animations always manage to keep my interest since they are animated, I’m defintely not interested in human romance (animals don’t bother me, though, since they aren’t the same species, I don’t care much. ). In fact, I refuse to watch a movie with actors, especially if they have a female character that isn’t solo, since that’s ALWAYS a sign that romance will be in it. I haven’t seen one movie with actors and a female that had 0% romance at all.
